Inquiries
Adequacy of Supervision Effective supervision is integral to a positive workplace culture, to organizational integrity, and to the early identification of conduct, whether matters properly addressed through coaching and developmental supervision or matters warranting formal escalation and accountability. Supervision is equally integral to the identification of, and response to, member wellness concerns. In that context, can the Chief advise, in writing, on the adequacy of supervision within the Service, specifically: all procedures applicable to the supervision of members, including supervisory span of control, escalation obligations, and the performance management of supervisors; all procedures and requirements applicable to the training of supervisors and members; procedures, practices, and training governing the early identification of, and appropriate response to, member conduct across that continuum, whether warranting coaching and informal correction or formal escalation, including in relation to sexual violence, harassment, and gender-based misconduct; procedures, practices, and training applicable to supervisors' identification of, and response to, member wellness concerns; and any self-assessment or gap analysis the Service has conducted with respect to supervision or span of control.

That the Ottawa Police Service Board approve the procurement of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and associated equipment from MSA’s authorized Ontario distributor, A.J. Stone Company Limited, to a maximum upset limit of $315,000 (including non-recoverable tax), and that the Board receive this report for information regarding the associated funding strategy and operating budget pressure.
