Motion To: That the Rules of Procedure be suspended to consider the following motion in order to give direction to staff in advance of the June 19, 2019 meeting of the Transit Commission WHEREAS the City has committed to addressing climate change by reducing its GHG emissions; and WHEREAS the City promotes the use of new and innovative technologies; and WHEREAS the City aims to provide a modern, world-class transit service that is efficient and clean; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that staff provide a plan to Transit Commission on June 19, 2019, to introduce electric buses to the OC Transpo fleet within this term of Council; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that staff continue to monitor research conducted by various agencies such as the Canadian Urban Transit Research and Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC) and ongoing alternative energy pilot projects in other Canadian municipalities; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that staff start working on a plan in this term of Council to further expand the number o
