Motion To: WHEREAS the City Treasurer has just informed Council that the forecast for the 2017 year-end has improved significantly and as a result the balance in the City Wide Reserve is projected to increase by $10M; and WHEREAS the City Wide Reserve is used to fund all tax-supported capital works with the exception of Police and Transit, and the additional funds are not committed or required to fulfill any current long range plans; and WHEREAS there is broad support to continue our city's progress in renewing our built infrastructure; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that up to $10 million from the City-wide reserve be allocated to general infrastructure renewal in the 2018 budget, and that the General Manager of Planning, Infrastructure and Economic Development report back to FEDCO as soon as possible in Q1 2018 with a list of recommended infrastructure renewal projects that will be funded from this allocation, including roads, sidewalks, bike lanes, pedestrian walkways and city facilities.
