recognition - mayor's city builder award
mayor watson presented the mayor's city builder award to mr. russ thomas in recognition of his contributions to his cumberland community. mr. thomas has served on the cumberland community association since 2013, including the last five years as president or co-president. he has served as a dedicated, hands-on volunteer at the cumberland farmers' market, serving as a board member over the past three years. during this time, mr. thomas has helped incorporate the market's governing body and has been one of its biggest supporters. '
mr. thomas has also been a volunteer at the cumberland heritage village museum for the past several years, initially serving on its advisory board. when the board was dissolved, he served on the museum's departmental consultative group, first as a member and then as chair. amongst the projects he has worked on are the construction and installation of the haunted village each fall, designed flower presses, and planted the museum's gardens.

Motion To: WHEREAS a motion adopted at Planning Committee on August 28th, 2018 with respect report ACS2018-PIE-PS-0034 and was to lift delegated authority on site plan control at 3443 Innes Road to Committee and Council and to require a Holding Zone be added to the recommended zone (LC[2521]-h); AND WHEREAS, the intention of the motion was to allow the Holding Zone to be lifted only after site plan control approval by Committee and Council; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the zoning be amended to specify that as a result of the lifting of delegated authority, the Holding provision on the property shall not be removed until such a time as the site plan has been approved by Committee and Council; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT pursuant to the Planning Act, subsection 34(17) no further notice be given.
