Motion To: WHEREAS the Ottawa Asian Fest (OAF) Chinatown Night Market is an outdoor festival to promote Asian Culture and Heritage in the heart of Ottawa Chinatown; and WHEREAS the OAF Chinatown Night Market is to occur from Friday, July 28, 2017 to Sunday, July 30, 2017; and WHEREAS Somerset Street West, from Bronson Avenue to Arthur Street, is required to be closed to accommodate the festival and on-street festival set-up; and WHEREAS the on-street festival set-up will commence at 8:00 am on Friday, July 28, 2017 and the festival will begin operation at 1:00pm on Friday, July 28 2017; and WHEREAS the City of Ottawa’s Special Events on City Streets By-law (2001-260) prohibits road closures before 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday; and THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Council approve the road closure for Somerset Street West, from Bronson Avenue to Arthur Street, from 8:00 am on Friday, July 28, pop-out |
