PURPOSE OF THE APPLICATION:
The Owner of the restaurant known as “Quinn’s” located on the south side of Euclid
Avenue has extended its outdoor commercial patio from 34 to 54 seats. The Application
indicates that the garbage enclosure was relocated to the west of the patio extension.
RELIEF REQUIRED:
In order to proceed, the Owner requires the Authority of the Committee for a Minor
Variance from the Zoning By-law as follows:
a)
To permit the extended outdoor commercial patio to be located 6.7 metres from a
residential zone boundary to the west whereas the By-law states, in part, that an outdoor
commercial patio is prohibited in any yard facing or abutting a residential zone, or
abutting a yard or lane facing or abutting a residential zone, unless it is located a
minimum of 30 metres from the residential zone.
b)
To permit the extended outdoor commercial patio to be located 6.2 metres from a
residential zone boundary to the north whereas the By-law states, in part, that an outdoor
commercial patio is prohibited in any yard facing or abutting a residential zone, or
abutting a yard or lane facing or abutting a residential zone, unless it is located a
minimum of 30 metres from the residential zone.
THE APPLICATION indicates that the Property is not the subject of any other current
application under the Planning Act.
