Part of Lot 37, Concession 1

2008-250

PURPOSE OF THE APPLICATION:
The subject property contains a detached dwelling known municipally as 3996 Gordon
Murdock Road, as well as a second detached dwelling that was the subject of a Zoning Bylaw Amendment (D02-03-13-0140) which permitted the second dwelling on the lot for a
temporary period of 3 years beginning April 9, 2014 and expiring on April 9, 2017. Upon
expiry of the temporary zoning the land will revert back to the AG2 zone. The Owner now
wants the second detached dwelling to be deemed a secondary dwelling unit.
RELIEF REQUIRED:
In order to proceed, the Owner requires the Authority of the Committee for a Minor Variance
from the Zoning By-law to permit a secondary dwelling unit in a detached accessory structure
whereas the By-law states that a secondary unit is permitted in any detached, linkeddetached, semi-detached or townhouse dwelling in any zone where that dwelling type is a
listed permitted use.

THE APPLICATION indicates that the Property is not the subject of any other current
application under the Planning Act.
