PURPOSE OF THE APPLICATION:
The Owner wants to construct a two-storey, 106.97 square metres addition to the east
side of its building, as shown on plans filed with the Committee. The building is currently
used as a place of worship, community centre, lending library and a pre-school. There
will be 6 parking spaces provided on site.
In order to proceed, the Owner requires the Permission of the Committee. The existing
place of worship, community centre, lending library and pre-school would appear to be
legal non-conforming uses in the R3R zone. Permission is requested to enlarge and
extend a building that is used for legal non-conforming uses.
The Owner also requires the Authority of the Committee for a Minor Variance from the
Zoning By-law to permit 0 parking spaces for the place of worship, community centre
and lending library whereas the By-law requires a minimum of 16 parking spaces as

The application indicates that the existing 6 parking spaces on the site will be used to
meet the By-law requirements for the pre-school use.
