PURPOSE OF THE APPLICATION:
The Owners want to do renovations to the existing three-storey dwelling which will
include constructing an addition at the rear which will contain an elevator as well as a
one-storey mud, as shown on plans filed with the Committee.
RELIEF REQUIRED:
In order to proceed, the Owner requires the Authority of the Committee for Minor
Variances from the Zoning By-law as follows:
a) The to permit an increased area of 13.12 square metres for the roof top access
whereas the By-law requires that roof top access projecting above the maximum
building height must not exceed a total area of 7 square metres per building.
b) To permit a reduced setback of 2 metres from the roof access to the rear exterior
wall whereas the By-law states that a roof top access be setback a distance
equal to its height from the exterior front wall and rear walls. In this case, the
setback from the exterior wall would be13 metres.
THE APPLICATION indicates that the Property is not the subject of any other current
application under the Planning Act.
