PURPOSE OF THE APPLICATION:
The Owner wants to construct a single detached dwelling with an attached garage on
the vacant lot, as well as construct a detached 7.35 m x 7.35 m accessory building
(structure) to house a home-based coffee roasting business. The home-based
business will occupy a maximum of 54 square metres and is as shown on a Site Plan
filed with the application.
In order to proceed, the Owner requires the Authority of the Committee for a Minor
Variance from the Zoning By-law to permit a home-based business to be located within
a detached accessory building (structure) whereas the Zoning By-law states in part that
a home-based business is permitted provided it is located within a dwelling or an
